Legal

Legal pages are the bane of the web, so I'll try and make this as quick and painless as possible.

Copyright notice

The Windows XP logo and "Windows" are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. The Finder icon, "Macintosh" and "Apple" are registered trademarks of Apple Computers, Inc. No challenge to the status of these or any other trademarks is intended.

All fonts are the copyright of their respective authors, as detailed in the readme/license files enclosed with the font files.

Unless otherwise stated, all other material on this site (including code, design and content) is copyright © 2003 - 2006 Paul Waring. All rights reserved.

Use of material

You have permission to download any of the fonts from this site and keep a copy on your computer for personal use. Some fonts may be in the public domain, in which case there are no restrictions on their use. In all other cases the use of the font is described in the accompanying license agreement. The terms of any agreement enclosed with a font must be adhered to if you wish to use that font — for personal or commercial use.

You also have my permission to download any other material from this site and keep a copy for personal use. If you want to use any of my HTML, CSS, PHP etc. on your site then that's fine, but please remember to give me due credit (at the very least you must mention Font Planet and provide a link back to the site).

However, you don't have permission to copy any of the content from my site and place it on your site, even if you include an appropriate accreditation. Whilst I appreciate the thought, I update Font Planet frequently and some material will be added/edited/removed. I like to know that people always have the most up to date version of my site, so I prefer to keep all the content on my server. Often people mirror content in good faith, but forget to update it, which causes confusion.

If the license for a font allows free distribution without the express permission of the font author, then you may offer that particular font for download on your site. However, it may be the case that Font Planet has requested and been granted the author's permission to use a specific font, so please check the license and, if necessary, with the font author before re-distributing any of the fonts.

If you do re-distribute any of the fonts on your site, you must not link directly to my download files. This is effectively using my bandwidth to promote your site, and if I catch anyone doing this I will simply block your IP address.

Linking

Feel free to link to anything on this site that you feel might be of interest to your visitors; I don't operate a strict linking policy like some sites do. Just please don't link to any download files directly otherwise I shall have to don my lawyer's hat and chase you for bandwidth costs.

I'm afraid that I don't have any fancy buttons for you to use when linking to Font Planet, because I can never get them to look right. If you'd like to help me out in that department (I'm afraid I can't afford to pay anyone, so please don't bombard me with quotes), please let me know.
